Choosing your kitten
First, you should know cats live up to 20 years! So you will have your cat for a very long time.
Some good places to find a kitten are:
1. Shelters, because many unwanted animals go there.
2. Breeders, they breed animals so you may find a kitten there.
3. Pet stores, you may think this is the most obvious one but be careful.
Next, you should pick a healthy kitten even if the kitten you want is healthy looking but the others aren't it is likely your kitten will become sick within a week here are some things you should make sure your kitten is doing before you bring it home:
1. Alert
2. Eyes are not puffy, runny or slightly closed
3. Ears not dry or dirty
4. Clean coat with a bit of a shine
5. Skin is not red
Finally you can bring it home.
Setting up for your kitten
First, you should keep your kitten in only one room fr it's first few days.
Second, you will need a few things for your kitten like:
1. Bed to sleep in
2. Toys to play with
3. Water bowl
4. grooming kit
5. litter box and scoop
Most of all, you must remove all electronics and wires so your cat doesn't chew them. You should also remove plants from that room.
Taking care
First, you should never give plastic bags to your cat they can suffocate them and don't leave strings unattended but a paper bags are fun for kittens to pounce on.
Second of all, grooming if you have a long haired cat you should groom it everyday but if you have a short haired cat once a week would work.
Finally, when feeding your young kitten you should give it five meals a day and when your kitten grows up you should only give it two meals a day.
That is all your kitten should need!
